This, That and the Other..

There is no particular order to his posting.
I attempted to have a candy making day the other day....and failed...I found green maraschino cherries. I had never seen green before! The tasted the same as the red ones. My Christmas mice kind of looked a bit mutant like with them, (and Thad helped and decapitated half of the mice) but they tasted good.
Mutant Mice.
Thad loves jello. Grandma made some the other day....We turned around to see him sneaking the jello.
I did a several trades this year, to get some presents for the kids, as well as for my niece and nephews. These Repunzel hats though were delayed in the mail, and they didn't get them until Tuesday.
Thad sneaking the divinity. He LOVES it!
Abby loves her Larry Boy hat.
Thad's totally awesome tractor hat. He's getting a little better about leaving the hats on.
I think we just might have two of the silliest girls around. :-)
Daphne had her 4th birthday on the 5th. Justin took her to build a bear and she chose smurfette.
Like I said, there is no order to these pictures.. LOL This is Thad's Yoda hat that he got for Christmas. I failed this year and didn't bring out the camera until all the presents were unwrapped.

Christmas Eve, in their new jammies and getting ready to hang up their stockings. This was the first year that we actually stayed home for Christmas Eve/Christmas. It was kind of nice...
This is Daphne's birthday dress. I let her pick out the fabric. She loves her princess dress and still wants to wear it all the time. :-)
Apparently Daddy reads the best stories.
Yeah, just a little behind...Happy Thanksgiving!

Project: A Princess Christmas

Dear friends.

The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and with that in mind, I would love to do my part in helping make some little girl(s) Christmas a bit brighter. I would like your help to find a needy or deserving family with one or maybe even two little girls who would love to receive a fancy dress for the holidays.

If you would like to nominate someone to receive this little Christmas gift, please send me an e-mail to huckleberrycorner@gmail.com or Facebook private message, to preserve the family's privacy, with some details including age and size.

What a wonderful surprise it will be for some little girl or girls to receive a package in the mail containing a beautiful Christmas dress. Nominations will be accepted through Thanksgiving Day. Thanks so much for your help.

Jusitn's new toy

I got Justin a new game and racing wheel. Though, I'm not sure who is more excited about the wheel, Justin, or Thad. :-)

I found this princess material on Walmart.com a little while ago, and decided to finally do something with it. I had to bed Daphne to try it on, once it was done. But after she didn't want to take it of "But mom! It's my favorite dress!!" I think I might have to make her one similar for her birthday in December. As it is, this one sold is being shipped to Missouri, if I remember correctly. :-)

More dresses and Abby's KISS

After I posted the first picture of the Satin ruffle dress on my Huckleberry corner page, I had a gal ask for 2 of them for her daughters! I lucked out that they were the same size as my girls, so they were able to try the dresses on so I could get a picture of them! I felt bad a first, charging as much as I did for the dresses, but after talking to several people about it, I don't feel so bad anymore. LOL!
r
The red one was just me playing around with fabric. I love making things for people, and making a few dollars while I am at it.

Last Friday, I got an e-mail from Abby's teacher in the middle of the day. She said that there had been an incident at school that day. Abby had kissed a boy, and then when her teacher asked her about it, she lied. When Abby got home, it took a good 20 minutes for her to FINALLY tell me what happened. She was so upset. In Kindergarten, there was a boy in her class that she insisted she was going to marry someday. Well apparently it was this same boy that she "kissed". 3 times! Abby said "He kept coming back!!!" LOL We proceeded to have a conversation about appropriate times for kissing.... At school is not ok...and at 7 years old, is NOT OK. LOL Watch out teenage years!!

Fabulous!

I made a dress on Saturday...It is my favorite dress at this point. (I gave it to a lady in my ward. She was so excited! It is awesome to see people so excited!)

I was looking online for ideas for a ruffle dress, and saw someone post asking if they knew anyone that did this style of dress. I figured, it was really close to what I was already doing, only with the cut away in the front, and lots of ruffles! :-) So cute!!! I can't wait to make more :-)

Picture

Here is the picture Tiffany...I couldn't really get a good one of her hair though, it kind of blends in this time (THANKFULLY).
Okay blogger....POST...anytime now....

Failed... Already

I think I am giving up on the Alphabet challenge already. I know. I fail. :-P

I had someone today ask if I would mind sharing my pattern for my latest dress.. First off, I don't really have a pattern...I have the pattern I use for the bodice, and the rest from there have been modifications of the pattern. It would probably take me longer to actually come up with a hard copy of a pattern, than to actually make the dress. LOL

Daphne decided to take the scissors to one of the outfits that I made for her...she cut off the sash, and part of the ruffle...It wouldn't have been so bad if she'd just cut off the sash, but she had to proceed to cut the sash into a bunch of tiny little pieces.. Sigh...
